Parishville Fire Company Latest News

At the Parishville Volunteer Fire Departments monthly meeting, which was held on Wednesday January 3, 2024, the Parishville Fire District and Parishville Volunteer Fire Department presented Jerry Hayes and Evan Harper, Jr. plaques in appreciation for their outstanding and dedicated service to our community and the Parishville Fire District.

Jerry Hayes was presented a plaque for 20 years of dedicated service as fire commissioner for the Parishville Fire District. Jerry began his first term as fire commissioner in 2004 and would go on to complete four terms as a fire commissioner. Jerry was no stranger to the fire service as he had been a dedicated volunteer firefighter with the Parishville Volunteer Department prior to becoming a fire commissioner for the district. Jerry played numerous instrumental roles in making the Parishville Fire Department what it is today. From keeping the funding available for new apparatus, to equipment, to a new firehouse, Jerry was always there to lend ideas, a helping hand, or an ear to listen.

Evan Harper, Jr. was presented with a plaque for 26 years of dedicated service as the secretary/ treasurer of the Parishville Fire District. Evan began his first term as the secretary/ treasurer of the district in 1998 and would go on to complete eight terms as the secretary/ treasurer. Evan by far carried one of the most important roles in the Parishville Fire District as he kept the financials in order, submitted the essential paperwork to the State, kept budgets in order, kept records in check and kept all the meeting minutes. Evan is no stranger to the fire service as he has been an active member of the Parishville Fire Department since 1972 and still is to this day.

We would like to wish Jerry and Evan well on their “retirement” from their positions with the Parishville Fire District!
